IperChat

Περιγραφή

IperChat is a private, invite-only AI chat assistant service. This plugin is the connector for WordPress sites that have been invited to it: once you enter the tenant ID the administrator gave you, the IperChat chat widget appears on your pages.

There is no public registration. The administrator of the instance creates a tenant for each site and invites its owner by email. Without a tenant ID the plugin does nothing.

What the plugin does:

  • Stores your tenant ID, the widget position and the language in your WordPress options.
  • Loads the hosted widget script in the footer of your pages.
  • Adds an [iperchat] shortcode to embed the chat inside a page or post.
  • Checks, when you save a tenant ID, that your site’s domain is allowed for that tenant.

What it does not do:

The plugin does not create tenants or accounts. The assistant itself (its instructions, appearance, knowledge base and allowed domains) is managed in the IperChat operations panel at https://admin.iperchat.ai, where invited owners sign in. Changes made there apply to your site immediately, with nothing to update in WordPress.

Settings in WordPress:

  • Position: bottom right, bottom left, or inline (embedded wherever you place the shortcode).
  • Language: automatic (the visitor’s browser language), Italian, English or Spanish.
  • Advanced: the container ID used in inline mode, and a switch to start the widget yourself with window.IperChat.init().

External Services

This plugin connects your site to the IperChat service (iperchat.ai), a private AI chat assistant service that is available by invitation only. Nothing is sent to it until a tenant ID has been entered in the plugin settings.

The widget script. On every front-end page where the widget is enabled, visitors’ browsers load a JavaScript file from https://widget.iperchat.ai/iperchat.iife.js, so that server receives the visitor’s IP address and standard request data.

Chat messages. When a visitor uses the chat, the messages they type are sent, together with your tenant ID, to the IperChat servers at https://api.iperchat.ai, hosted in the European Union. To write a reply, the text is processed through the OpenAI and Anthropic APIs under Standard Contractual Clauses.

Domain check. When you save a tenant ID, your server makes a single request to https://api.iperchat.ai/api/v1/public/verify-origin to verify that your site’s domain is authorized for that tenant. Only your site’s hostname and the tenant ID are transmitted, no personal data.

Please mention the chat assistant in your site’s privacy policy.

Συχνές Ερωτήσεις

Who can use this plugin?

Sites that have been invited to the private IperChat instance. The administrator creates a tenant for the site and invites its owner by email; the tenant ID that goes with it is what you enter in the plugin. Without a tenant ID the plugin does nothing. If you think you should have been invited, write to info@iperchat.ai.

How do I connect my site?

Open IperChat in the WordPress admin menu, paste your tenant ID into the I already have an account box and click Activate. If you have lost the tenant ID, sign in to the operations panel at https://admin.iperchat.ai with the email address you were invited with: it is shown under My Tenant.

The settings page has a “Connect your site” button. Should I use it?

No. IperChat is available by invitation only, so that button has nothing to set up. Use the I already have an account box below it.

Does this plugin create a tenant or talk to the backend?

No. The plugin only stores configuration and injects the hosted JavaScript widget on the frontend. The one request it makes itself is the domain check when you save a tenant ID (see External Services).

The plugin says my domain is not authorized. What should I do?

First check that the tenant ID is the one issued for this site. Then make sure your site’s exact hostname is in the tenant’s allowed domains: in the operations panel at https://admin.iperchat.ai open My Tenant, add the hostname (for example www.example.com) under Allowed Domains, save, and save the tenant ID in WordPress again. If you cannot do this, ask the administrator who invited you.

How do I change how the assistant looks or answers?

In the operations panel at https://admin.iperchat.ai, not in WordPress. The plugin only carries the tenant ID, the position and the language.

How do I embed the chat inline in a page?

Set Position to “Inline” in the plugin settings, then add the [iperchat] shortcode to any page or post. You can customize the height with [iperchat height="400px"] or the container element ID with [iperchat id="my-chat"].

Can I disable auto-initialization for programmatic control?

Yes. In Advanced Settings, uncheck “Auto-initialize”. The widget script will still load, making window.IperChat.init({...}) available for manual initialization via custom JavaScript.

Can developers override the widget or API URLs?

Yes. The plugin exposes the iperchat_widget_url and iperchat_api_url filters for development or environment overrides.
